Daughter approached by talent scout?

I was shopping with my daughter at Target and a woman approached us and said that my daughter had the right look, and that she should show up at a screen test, and gave us some papers and information. The agent is Mara Santino from the Luber Roklin Entertainment. Has anyone heard of this organization, and if so are they legitimate? Also, her father is extremely against her participating. He says that it would not be a good influence. I am not against it, but I don't know enough about it. Our daughter is 16 years old. She has responded to her father by crying and begging and throwing tantums. Is this opportunity worth it enough to try to persuade her father? I'd love to hear from anyone who has had a similar experience and followed through with it.
