Is $60,000AUD good money to make?

i'm a single girl who wants to study occupational therapy. it's the only occupation i've properly considered but my parents and a lot of adult friends are discouraging me from it because the highest amount of pay is around $65,000 AUD. i would love to hear from someone who actually lives on this amount.
