Is my ex flirting with me?

If he remembers THAT far back about your relationship then he must have loved to have been with you and cared about you. Why would someone remember something like that unless they cherished this memory. I'm no relationship expert(or even close) but if you want my advice then just stick with him. He sounds like an awesome guy and obviously likes you.
