What's the movie where a young man's ghost tries to expose his killers?

I saw a preview for a movie where a young man gets beaten to death and his ghost comes back to try and tell a girl (whom I think is his girlfriend) who killed him. I cannot remember much more about it unfortunately except that maybe he makes contact with another ghost, and that the young man was a high schooler. Anyone have a clue? Thank you.
